One of the fundamental concerns of the New Liturgist is to promote worship as a communal event. It is always a challenge to move people from worshiping primarily as self-conscious individuals into a God and community conscious people. The subject and object of worship, the Triune God of grace, models a community of three persons who engage with each other in perichoretic harmony. Why the New Liturgist?

I have been involved in some form of worship leadership for 35 years now. This has been a voyage of discovering the great honour, delight, pain, tedium, and joy of worshiping before and with God’s people. I am grateful for the affirmation of my calling by many of God’s people in a variety of faith communities, who have drawn me forward into the mysterious and wonderful event we call worship of the living God.
