Worship and Sin

Eugene Peterson comments in his book ‘Christ Plays in Ten Thousand Places’ that “sin is basically a depersonalizing word or act. It is not, in essence, breaking a rule, but breaking a relationship.” (p.316) He goes on to say, however, that when our communities need improving, sin is not ordinarily targeted; usually we go to knowledge, power, or wealth to get the job done.
